What is the relationship between Wu Shun and Li Zhi Why was she killed by her sister Wu Zetian

Wu Zetian was the first female emperor in Chinese history, and her methods, strategies, and governance abilities were no less impressive than those of men. After Li Shimin’s death, Li Zhi was taken out of Wu Zetian’s nunnery and incorporated into his own harem, which gave her the opportunity to turn over. After returning to the palace, he was conferred the title of Second Class Zhaoyi in 652 AD. In the sixth year of Yonghui (655 AD), she was enthroned as the empress after the “Abolishing the King and Establishing Martial Arts” incident. Afterwards, Li Zhi regained control of power, while the Wu family enjoyed the wealth that power brought them due to Wu Zetian’s rise to fame.
In 665 AD, Wu Zetian became pregnant and Li Zhize, who was worried that Wu Zetian would feel lonely and bored if she stayed in the palace for a long time, ordered that women from the Wu family could freely enter and exit the harem. Later, Wu Shun, the sister of Empress Wu Zetian, often freely entered and exited the palace to accompany her sister.
Wu Shun, also known as Mingze, was the daughter of Duke Yingguo’s warrior, Wu Zetian, and the elder sister of Wu Zetian. She was conferred the title of Lady of Korea. In his early years, Wu Shun married Shi Helan Anshi, the son of Helan Shiren, the Duke of Yingshan, and had one son and one daughter. He had a son named Helan Minzhi and a daughter named Helan Shi, the wife of Wei State. After her husband Helan Yueshi passed away, Wu Shun lived alone in Chang’an with his son and daughter. Wu Shun’s beauty can be compared to Wu Zetian’s, because he was young and widowed, and he accompanied Emperor Gaozong Li Zhi all day long. In the end, the two developed feelings for each other. But Li Zhi was also afraid of Wu Zetian’s existence, so although he favored Wu Shun, he did not bring them into the palace as concubines, but only had a secret affair.
Not long after, Empress Wu learned about this matter and scolded Wu Shun severely, even driving her out of the palace. In the second year of the Linde reign of Emperor Gaozong of Tang Dynasty (665 AD), the Korean wife who was highly favored by Li Zhi’en suddenly passed away at the age of 43. After Wu Shun’s death, he was posthumously conferred the title of Lady of Zheng, and his daughter Helan was conferred the title of Lady of Wei.
There are two theories about Wu Shun’s death. The first one is that Wu Zetian poisoned Wu Shun with the help of her fellow brothers; The second theory is that Empress Wu Zetian threatened Wu Shun with the fate of Empress Wang and Consort Xiao Shufei. Therefore, the Korean wife was very afraid and soon after, she committed suicide by poisoning herself.
