Du Huangshang, the son of Du Wan, a military officer recruited by the Jingzhao Bureau, was a prime minister during the Tang Dynasty. After Emperor Shunzong of Tang succeeded to the throne, Du Huangshang was promoted to the position of Taichang Temple Minister. Crown Prince Li Chun was in charge of the country, and Du Huangshang was promoted to the position of Deputy Minister of the Ministry and concurrently served as the Minister of the Imperial Secretariat. Later, Liu Pi, the deputy governor of Xichuan, rebelled, and Du Huangshang proposed a strategy of prioritizing the use of resources, which greatly contributed to the pacification of the domain.
