Why did Wang Anshi apologize for a poem when he was in power for a while

Hello everyone, when it comes to Wang Anshi’s words, everyone must have heard of them.

He is both a great politician and a great literary figure. Lenin once referred to him as the ‘reformer of China in the 11th century’. He is one of the “Eight Great Masters of Tang and Song Dynasties”. He initiated the bold and unrestrained movement.
He is the great master Wang Anshi (1021-1086). Wang Anshi, from Linchuan, Fuzhou. He was an outstanding politician, reformer, and literary figure during the Northern Song Dynasty. But even such a person can make some low-level mistakes. What is the situation exactly? Please listen to me explain in detail:
When Wang Anshi was serving as prime minister, he once went out for inspection and stayed in a temple at night. When he saw a poem written on the wall of the temple, the poem read:

Colorful butterflies dance in pairs, cicadas come out of the trees and sing,
The bright moon crows in the sky, and the yellow dog lies on the flower bud.
After reading it, Wang Anshi repeatedly said, “Absurd, absurd. So he immediately asked the monk in the temple, ‘Who wrote this?’ The monk replied, ‘It was written by a scholar who had repeatedly tried and failed at the foot of the mountain.’. Upon hearing this, Wang Anshi said, “How could a fool like him be successful?” and immediately changed the last two lines of the poem to:
The bright moon shines in the sky, and the yellow dog lies in the shade of flowers.
After Wang Anshi finished his reforms, his followers loudly praised him, ‘Well done, well done.’. However, the monk cautiously said to Wang Anshi, “The Prime Minister is not aware that the scholar wrote a poem about scenery. The scenery in the poem is a painting, not two paintings. The bright moon does not refer to the moon, but to a local bird that can predict the weather. If you can hear its call during the day, it will definitely be sunny at night and you can see the moon. The yellow dog is not a yellow dog, it is a small golden bug that is used to hiding in the flower buds and sleeping
After hearing these words, Wang Anshi immediately said with shame, “Oh my! It’s all my fault for not understanding the actual situation, which led to my hasty conclusion and arbitrary modification of this poem. Please forgive my mistake and let me revise it again.
This story has inspired us greatly. Every poem and article we write requires the author to repeatedly scrutinize and carefully refine the words, phrases, and sentences in order to ultimately complete them.
This short story also reminds us that anyone who wants to do well in writing training must understand the situation, conduct research, be prepared, and lay a solid foundation. The accumulation of personal life knowledge is always limited. Only through investigation and research can we enrich our life knowledge and provide favorable conditions for literary creation. Only by paying attention to investigation and research can we avoid making jokes due to subjective assumptions.
